About Siliconcreek.net
November 29th, 2009Welcome to SiliconCreek.net!
This is a four-for-the-price-of-one blog. Four, because I generally cover four topics: computers, transportation, humor, and random. I intend to attempt to post at least weekly to one of the four, but you never know – life happens!
This blog doesn’t cover breaking news or anything like that. It is more commentary.
Computers
I tend to write about the use of technology or decisions made by major players in the computer industry. I also take shots at reporters that don’t do a good job at writing news about technology. I read a lot of news and I know a lot about technology. I can instantly recognize if a writer knows what they are talking about or if they are full of crap.
Transportation
These topics tend to be more random, but this is still mostly commentary. Originally, this blog was to be all about transportation, but the topics were so niche oriented that there wasn’t much. Those old posts are still there, but since then I’ve kept an eye out for important happenings in the transportation industry.
Humor
A few years ago, a coworker of mine and I decided to start a blog just totally ripping on ESRI’s ArcMap software. It didn’t go far, he didn’t submit his stuff, and since I left my former company, we grew apart a little. I’ve expanded that to rip on technology of all sorts, and it is definitely meant to be funny.
Random
Anything that doesn’t fit anywhere else, like say, making fun of Sarah Palin, goes here.
Etc…
It is imperative to note that any opinions expressed here are of mine. I am not paid, and I don’t even run ads (that may change in the future). My opinions are not necessarily those of anyone else, like my employer, family, etc.
